Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is brimming with confidence as his side prepares for the much-anticipated Super Clash against archrivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday, December 15, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The game marks the first meeting between the two giants in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, and Kotoko heads into the encounter buoyed by a crucial 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars on matchday 12.
Coach Ogum highlighted the positive impact of the win on his squad, emphasizing their renewed confidence.
“This win [against Aduana Stars] has brought some self-belief into the players. They now believe that they can do it. They now believe it is doable. It is something that can be done, so going into our next game [against Hearts of Oak], we are going with a lot of confidence,” Ogum stated.
He also noted the uplifting atmosphere in training sessions, crediting the victory for boosting morale and motivating players to work harder.
“There will be a lot of smiles at training, a lot of joy, and people will be ready to work harder. The key thing for our next game is that players will be more confident and believe in themselves that everything is doable, and we can do it,” he added.
Both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are ramping up preparations for what promises to be an electrifying showdown, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 PM on Sunday.
