The foul-mouthed forward was very explosive in his comments of calling the government to annul the current top-flight campaign, but has now been rebuked over those statements by his employers
Ghana Premier League side Heart of Lions have distanced themselves from comments made by their leading striker Abednego Tetteh, with the hot-headed forward calling the government to cancel the current 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season.
ln an explosive interview on Lawson TV, the former Hearts of Oak attacker urged the government to investigate and sack all the officials at the Ghana FA in order to manage the affairs of the game in the country.
''The government should cancel the league and sack everyone at the FA. They should be investigated. The government should manage the League,'' the acid-tongued striker stated.
However, in disassociating themselves from the above-mentioned statements by his current employers, the Kpandu-based club have said in a strongly-worded release by stating; ''Our attention has been drawn to a Tv/Radio Interview by our Player Abednego Tetteh on Lawson Tv/Radio this afternoon.''
''As a club, we want to disassociate ourselves from the comments made on the show by Abednego Tetteh. The statement made is based on his personal beliefs and perspectives and should not be interpreted as an official position or endorsement by any third party. Any interpretations or actions taken based on this statement are the sole responsibility of the individual.''
The Ghanaian elite division campaigners have indicated that the issue will be dealt with internally by them going forward.
