Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has set his sights on securing the Ghana Premier League title and earning a spot in next season’s CAF Champions League after their recent FA Cup disappointment.
The Phobians were eliminated from the FA Cup by Division One side Golden Kick, leaving the league as their only chance at silverware this season. They currently sit fourth on the table with 33 points, just one point behind the leaders after 19 matches.
Despite their cup exit, Ouattara remains confident in his team’s ability to fight for the league crown and return to continental football.
Speaking to Asempa FM, the Ivorian tactician reaffirmed his commitment to leading Hearts of Oak to success.
“My target for Hearts of Oak is to win a domestic trophy, qualify for Africa, achieve a glorious name, and move forward. This is my focus,” Ouattara stated.
“To compete in Africa, you need to win the league or a trophy in Ghana before earning the opportunity. So, let us work on it and move forward. For Hearts of Oak, the future is bright.”
With the title race still wide open, Ouattara will be looking to rally his squad for a strong finish as they chase their first league title since 2021.
