Hearts of Oak deputy captain, Kelvin Osei Asibey has described their win over FC Samartex as an important one as he believes that will now keep them in the title race as they are just two points adrift the top-spot.
The ‘Phobians’ after a draw at Aduana FC, returned to winning path with a narrow 1-0 victory over the Timber Giants last Friday in an exciting match-day 16 opener.
Hamza Issah’s early goal thanks to a huge defensive clanger were enough to hand the the Rainbow Club the precious win are now unbeaten in their last three games.
In a post-match presser, the reliable center-back described the win as an important one for him and his teammates
“It was important to we the players, and also our supporters, because our game against Aduana, we were supposed to win that game, but we couldn’t win the game,” Asibey said after the match.
“So coming into this game, at least we have to do something to make our supporters happy.”
Hearts of Oak are done for the year and will resume early next year with with a visit to Tarkwa to face Medeama SC in what will be a very crunchy encounter
