Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has heaped praise on Heart of Lions, describing them as one of the most consistent sides in the Ghana Premier League as the two clubs prepare to face off in Kumasi on Sunday.
Speaking to AKSC Media, Zito acknowledged the challenge that awaits his team:
“It will be a very tough match. They have played four good games against Asante Kotoko in recent times, and the points have always been closely contested. In terms of consistency, they are one of the best in the league.”
The Porcupine Warriors began their 2025/26 campaign on September 13 with a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Berekum Chelsea, a result that gave them an early boost. But Zito admits his side will need more than just home support to overcome a Lions team that has proven resilient in recent encounters.
Sunday’s clash will also mark Kotoko’s first home fixture of the season at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. With kick-off scheduled for 3 pm, a bumper crowd is expected as both clubs look to assert themselves in the early stages of the campaign.
