Bofoakwa Tano defender Andrews Kwadwo Appau is optimistic that his team will avoid relegation and clinch the FA Cup title by the end of the Ghana Premier League season.
Currently sitting in 17th place with 33 points, the Sunyani-based club is in the relegation zone with just four games remaining. Despite their league struggles, Bofoakwa Tano has reached the FA Cup final for the first time in 38 years, where they will face Nsoatreman FC in the Bono derby at the University of Ghana Stadium in June.
In a recent interview, the former Asante Kotoko player expressed his hopes for both survival and cup success.
“We pray we escape relegation and win the FA Cup title. We are preparing very well to secure the necessary points to ensure our stay in the league. Truth be told, we are very determined to avoid relegation. We have four games to end the season, and we want to win all points in those games to escape relegation,” said Appau.
Bofoakwa Tano will host Medeama at the Sunyani Coronation Park in their next league match on Sunday.
Appau, who rejoined Bofoakwa Tano at the start of the 2023/24 season after leaving Asante Kotoko, has made 17 appearances this season, playing a crucial role in their fight against relegation.
