Despite Medeama Sporting Club's 2-1 victory over Basake Holy Stars, head coach Ibrahim Tanko has voiced his frustration over his team’s inability to keep a clean sheet.
Speaking at the post-match press conference at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa, Tanko acknowledged his team’s improvement but was disappointed that they allowed Holy Stars to score.
After back-to-back defeats to Nations FC and Samartex, Medeama bounced back with consecutive wins over Aduana Stars and Holy Stars. However, Tanko was not entirely satisfied with the defensive display.
“We had a lot of chances in the first half—at minimum, we should have scored two or three goals,” Tanko stated. “The only thing I’m not happy about is that we didn’t get a clean sheet. But overall, we deserved to win, created more chances than them, and I think the performance was good.”
Meanwhile, in another outstanding Ghana Premier League fixture, Kpando Heart of Lions suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bibiani Gold Stars in Bibiani. The result saw Gold Stars replace Kumasi Asante Kotoko as league leaders.
Kotoko will face Berekum Chelsea in Kumasi on Wednesday, April 2.
