Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani believes his side’s performance in the Super Clash did not merit defeat despite their 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko in the Week 9 fixture of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season on Sunday.
The Phobians fell narrowly to their arch-rivals at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Guinean striker Morifing Donzo scoring the decisive goal to hand Kotoko all three points in a fiercely contested encounter.
Speaking after the match, Dramani admitted that his team were not at their best but maintained that the result did not reflect the overall balance of play.
“We lost, but I think we didn’t deserve to lose, in my opinion — and for anyone who observed the game closely,” Dramani said. “We didn’t do well in some areas and need to improve, but the result doesn’t tell the full story of how we played.”
The defeat marked Hearts of Oak’s first loss of the season, ending their unbeaten run and dropping them to fifth place in the league standings.
For Kotoko, the victory extended their unbeaten streak and cemented their status as the only side yet to lose in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign, further boosting their early-season title credentials.
