Accra Lions star, Baba Salifu Apiiga has accused referee James Taylor for conspiring and cheating them against Asante Kotoko in their matchday five game.
The Yen Nyinaa Dea Boys were stunned 1-0 by the Porcupine Warriors at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Porcupines forward Albert Amoah was the star on the day - notching the only goal to secure the three maximum points.
“I don’t see it as a defeat because we played very well against Kotoko. Again, I don’t understand why the referee disallowed our goal against them.
Asked if the referee brought the results in his pocket and determined the outcome of the game, Apiiga said, “Yes! That’s how I see it.”
“It’s painful to play and lose unfairly like this. The referee cheated us and made Kotoko carry the day,” he added.
Accra Lions are currently 14th on the league table. They will play as hosts to Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium for round six clash in the ongoing campaign.
