Basake Holy Stars head coach Abdulai Gazale has voiced his frustration over his team’s lack of scoring power in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
After a promising start to their debut season in the top-flight, Holy Stars are now facing challenges, having suffered three consecutive defeats.
Their latest setback came in a narrow loss to fellow newcomers Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex over the weekend.
Speaking after the match, Gazale, a former Asante Kotoko assistant coach, expressed his concerns about the team's inability to convert chances into goals.
"Goalscoring has been a challenge. We’ve created a lot of chances in our games but we are unable to utilize them. I’m becoming frustrated because I think we’ve done a lot of work on goal-scoring," Gazale said.
The Anyinase-based club currently sits just above the relegation zone in 15th place, with four points from five matches. Despite their early promise, their goal drought has hindered their progress.
Basake Holy Stars will look to bounce back when they host Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in matchday six of the Ghana Premier League this weekend.
