Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has emphasized the necessity of securing maximum points in their home matches if the team aims to clinch the Ghana Premier League title.
Ogum highlighted that winning home games is a critical factor for any club striving to become league champions. He pointed to last season's champions, FC Samartex, who triumphed in 16 of their 17 home games to secure their first title, only needing three additional wins on the road.
“We need to pick up the maximum points at home if we want to win the league. It's one of the key aspects of the Ghana Premier League: trying to secure maximum points at home,” Ogum stated following their match against Samartex.
“Winning back-to-back matches at home should give the players that confidence. The supporters are behind them, and we know they will come in their numbers to support us,” he added.
Currently, the Porcupine Warriors sit second in the league table with 14 points, just one point behind GoldStars, having played one game less, and they remain unbeaten this season.
