Ibrahim Tanko has stressed the significance of Medeama SC’s 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars in the Ghana Premier League, describing it as a major boost in their title chase.

Speaking after the match, the Medeama head coach said the win was particularly important given the standings and the stage of the season, with only four games remaining.

“When you beat an opponent who is behind you, it's a relief. We are now four games to go, and we are ahead, so we are looking forward. We needed the three points today,” he said. “We wanted more goals, but the most important thing was the victory.”

Tanko acknowledged that the final stretch of the season will be challenging but insisted his side remains fully focused on winning the league title.

“The four remaining matches won’t be easy. We are going to prepare very well. We want to win the league, so definitely we need to keep fighting,” he added.

Medeama will next face Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday, May 6, as they continue their push for the Ghana Premier League crown.
