Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has reflected on his side’s Ghana Premier League triumph, insisting that their success was earned through hard work rather than luck.
The Yellow and Mauves were crowned champions last weekend after a dominant 5-2 victory over Heart of Lions, sealing the title with games to spare in a remarkable campaign.
Speaking in a pre-match interview ahead of their final league fixture against Hearts of Oak on Sunday, May 24, Tanko praised the entire club structure for contributing to the achievement.
“Winning the Ghana Premier League gives a very good feeling. It doesn’t come by fluke. We worked hard for it,” he said.
“The whole team, the president, the board, the management, and the technical team, together with the playing body, I think we have done a good job. I congratulate all of us.”
Medeama head into their final match of the season already confirmed as champions and will close out their campaign in Accra before turning attention to their coronation celebrations.
The Tarkwa-based club will also represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season following their second league title in history.
