Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Simeon-Okraku has revealed that the domestic football governing body will soon announce a headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
According to Okraku there have been months of clandestine negotiations intended to secure a long-term commercial partner.
The GFA Boss made this announcement during the official launch of the KGL U-20 football competition.
“We’ve been working tirelessly to secure a new sponsorship agreement that will bring financial stability and reposition the Ghana Premier League,” President Okraku stated. “Very soon, we will announce a new headline sponsor that will bring the needed support to our clubs.”
In 2022, Betpawa terminated its partnership with the GFA, which left a huge financial crisis in the league.
With just three games remaining in the 2024/25 season, the announcement is expected to revive hopes among stakeholders in Ghanaian football.
