Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has called on the club’s supporters to remain optimistic about their chances in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, despite their recent setback.
The Phobians were defeated 1-0 by arch-rivals Asante Kotoko last Sunday in the Matchday 13 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium, marking their third consecutive loss to the Porcupine Warriors.
Speaking from the Black Galaxies camp, Asare acknowledged that the defeat was hard to accept but reassured fans that the team is focused on a strong comeback.
“The supporters shouldn’t give up. In the second round, things will improve for Hearts of Oak. We will also win the return leg against Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium,” Asare stated.
The defeat leaves Hearts of Oak in 7th position with 19 points.
Their next challenge comes on Friday, December 20, 2024, against Berekum Chelsea in the Matchday 14 fixtures, as they look to rekindle their title ambitions.
