Medeama forward Nana Kofi Babil says scoring the winner against Debibi United has boosted his confidence.
Babil climbed off the bench on Sunday and scored in the 69th minute to seal a 1-0 victory for the defending champions in their fifth Ghana Premier League game of the season.
The win extended Medeama’s unbeaten start and kept them at the top of the table with 11 points from five matches.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Babil said the team travelled to Debibi with one clear aim which is to claim another win.
“We go into every match with the mentality to win so it’s not surprising we managed to beat Debibi United. I always try to do my best for the team and take my chances whenever I have the time to play. My performance today gives me a lot of confidence but it’s the result that is the most important thing,” Babil said.
The forward will now hope to build on his performance when Medeama host Heart of Lions in Tarkwa in Matchweek Six.
