[Ghana-prospect Emmanuel Gyamfi has joined Dutch Eerste Divisie outfit from German 2. Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
The 19-year-old together with his team-mate Paul Pöpperl were snapped up by the former Dutch top-flight campaigners ahead of the 2024/25 season.
A brief statement confirming the signing of the duo read: "Emmanuel Gyamfi (right) and Paul Pöpperl (left) will play for VVV-Venlo next season. The German duo is taken over on a rental basis from FC Schalke 04, with which the Koelclub has a partnership."
"It feels good to be here,” says Gyamfi. “I think this is a great opportunity for me to develop further and get a lot of minutes. Hopefully I can help the club and become a better player here.”
Gyamfi, who recently signed his first professional contract with Schalke 04, made 21 league game appearances, scoring once and assisting twice for Schalke 04 ll in the Regionalliga West 23/24 campaign.
Given his heritage, he still remains eligible to switch allegiance and play for Ghana at the international level as he's yet to be capped by the German senior national team.
