Barcelona Women strengthened their overwhelming record against Real Madrid with a 7-0 victory at Camp Nou in the 26th meeting between the clubs.
The result was Barcelona’s biggest win in the history of the fixture and extended their dominance across all competitions. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Barcelona now have 25 victories to Real Madrid’s one, with the other match ending in a draw.
Barcelona’s players have scored 99 goals in those meetings, while Real Madrid have managed 12.
The latest emphatic result raises the question of how Real Madrid can close the gap in a rivalry which, despite its profile and setting, has so far been heavily one-sided.
Barcelona’s dominance in the league
The disparity is even clearer in the Spanish league. Barcelona have won 12 of the clubs’ league meetings, compared with one victory for Real Madrid.
In those matches, Barcelona have scored 41 goals and Real Madrid five, underlining the Catalan side’s control of the domestic fixture.
The first league Clasico between the teams took place on 4 October 2020, when Barcelona won 4-0 at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
Real Madrid’s only league victory came on 23 March 2025, when they beat Barcelona 3-1 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
That result remains the sole success for Real Madrid in the overall head-to-head record, despite the club’s efforts to establish a competitive challenge to Barcelona.
Record margin for Barcelona
The seven-goal victory was significant beyond the points and the balance of the rivalry. It became Barcelona’s largest win against Real Madrid, surpassing their previous record in the fixture.
That earlier victory was a 6-0 success in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League on 2 April 2026.
Barcelona’s latest performance therefore extended their advantage in the record books while also increasing the gap in goals scored across the 26 encounters.
For Real Madrid, the figures provide a clear measure of the scale of the task: one win, one draw and 25 defeats against Barcelona, with a 99-12 deficit in goals.
