The northern England based club find themself in a very tricky situation at the moment. They could potentially face elimination from Europe's first tier competition and not even have the opportunity to compete in the qualifiers for the second tier.
Manchester United are bottom of Group A in the Champions League going into today's fixture away at Galatasaray. United's only win came again FC Copenhagen and have lost their remaining three matches played. Copenhagen and Galatasaray have 4 points each going into this match week.
United have Rashford who is unavailable due to the controversial red card he took in their previous match against Copenhagen. Casemiro is also out. Sancho who is suspended from the United team is still unavailable. Some positive for them as Anthony and Hojlund who missed their last game due to injury are fit to feature.
Manchester United boss Erik Tën Hag had a message for his players. He said " you have to stay calm in your head and don't get too emotional; control emotion don't give them anything [Galatasaray]. The referee as well don't give them a moment they can take so you have to stay away from such moment" . Tën Hag is pessimistic that if his team switches off for a second things could get worse. Talking on how United approach this game he said "you have make it your game. It is not that important how your opponent play it is about how you are playing. We will make a good plan and the players; they have to decide [ on the pitch].
United captain Bruno Fernandez is really optimistic as he said "when you are a kid you want to play in this kind of atmosphere. You know Galatasaray away is going to be great, there is going to be an amazing atmosphere".
Manchester United cannot afford to drop any other points again. If they do, it could be well and over for them as they will meet Bayern Munich in their match who have not lost a Champions League group stage game for a long while.
