The teenage defender of lvorian heritage has completed his transfer switch to the German top guns from the Austrian elite division outfit ahead of the upcoming summer window

French-born lvorian teenager Joane Gadou has joined Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund from Austrian Bundesliga club Red Bull Salzburg on a five-year contract, the club have confirmed.

The 19-year-old centre-back, who joined up with the Red Bull Arena campaigners from French giants PSG in the summer of 2024, has established himself as a central figure in the Austrian top-flight, with such efforts now being recognized by the European giants this summer.

An excerpt of a statement confirming his capturing read: ''Borussia Dortmund, the Bundesliga football club, has signed French central defender Joane Gadou from Austrian first division club FC Salzburg. The 19-year-old signed a contract until 2031 on Tuesday.''

The lvorian-prospect youngster has told the club's official website: ''I am incredibly excited to be part of the BVB family in the future and can't wait to wear the black and yellow jersey for the first time. Together with my teammates, the whole club and our incredible fans, I want to be successful in the coming years.'

Sporting director Lars Ricken added: ''We have known Joane for a very long time and observed him during his time at Paris Saint-Germain. Joane will strengthen our team and play an important role right from the start of the new season. We are convinced of his qualities and see enormous potential for his sporting development."

BVB sporting director Ole Book echoed over the signing of the promising defender: ''Joane is a modern and physically strong center-back. He has good playmaking abilities, is extremely fast, and still has room to develop. With his skills, Joane is an ideal addition to our defense.''

Before sealing his transfer move to the Signal Iduna Park, he took in  33 appearances for RB Salzburg across all competitions in this ongoing football season.

Given his lvorian heritage, the Aubervilliers-born native still remains fit to switch nationality and represent the Cote d'Ivoire national football team at the senior level after playing for the France U16, U17, U18 & U19 national youth teams.
