RB Leipzip sporting director Marcel Schäfer has insisted that lvory Coast international Yan Diomande remains ''an absolute key player for us and he'll be again next year'' after being heavily linked with a move away from his side to interested clubs ahead of the forthcoming transfer window.
Given his red-hot form so far this term, the DME Academy product has emerged as a hot commodity among Europe's leading elite division clubs, with French titans PSG, Premier League superpowers duo Manchester Utd and Livepool, and Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich - all currently expressing concrete interest in his services next season.
Addressing the speculation linking the 19-year-old sensational teenager to potential suitors this summer, the man in charge of administrative affairs at Bundesliga outfit has said the former CD Leganés winger would be staying put with RBL as he's an absolute key player for them going into the 2026-27 campaign.
He told Sky Deutschland: ''We will discuss his contract with his agents after the season because, quite simply – and the club is known for this – those who perform well will be rewarded."
"There are always limits, that has to be said very clearly. But Yan [Diomande,] is also qualifying for the Champions League for the first time. Here he's one of the players who makes the difference. He's exploded onto the scene, he's an absolute key player for us. And he'll be again next year. That's also a role that can be appealing,'' he added.
Diomande, who has been on fire this season, has racked up 13 goals and assisted 9 in 35 appearances for RB Leipziq across all contests in this current 2025-26 campaign.
He is currently boasting of 9 caps with the lvory Coast national football team on the international stage, with 3 goals to his name in his international football career so far.
