
Egyptian powerhouse Al-Ahly are set to battle it out with Algeria’s JS Kabylie on Saturday at the Hussein Ait Ahmed Stadium, in the fifth round of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League group stage.
Pyramids FC have officially unveiled their traveling squad for the crucial CAF Champions League encounter against Rivers United of Nigeria, as the Egyptian side step up preparations for the penultimate round of the group stage.
The Cairo-based club will take on Rivers United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday evening. The fifth-round fixture carries significance despite Pyramids already being well positioned in the group.
Pyramids’ delegation is set to depart on Friday, travelling directly to Nigeria aboard a private aircraft arranged by the club’s management, underscoring their commitment to ensuring optimal preparation ahead of the away clash.
The squad named for the trip includes several new signings, along with the welcome return of key players such as goalkeeper Awda Fakhoury, defender Pascal Ferreira, and midfielders Nasser Maher and Hamed Hamdan, all of whom strengthen the team’s options for the encounter.
However, Fiston Mayele is among the notabale names excluded from the traveling squad list.

Pyramids currently sit atop their CAF Champions League group with 10 points and have already secured qualification for the quarter-finals of the competition. Nevertheless, the Egyptian outfit will be aiming to maintain momentum and consolidate their dominance in the group.
