Ghanaian midfielder, Richmond Nii Lamptey has left Asante Kotoko to join Rwandan heavyweights Armeé Patriotique Rwandaise FC in the ongoing transfer window, per exclusive reports in the local media.
It is confirmed by wide range of reports that, Lamptey after a fruitful negotiations agreed to a two-year deal which keeps him at the Amahoro Stadium until the summer of 2026.
The 27-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2021 from Inter Allies and has undoubtedly been the club's best out and out player and is leaving after three solid seasons.
In his debut season at Kotoko, the mercurial playmaker played an integral role to help the Reds win the Ghana Premier League for the first time in almost a decade.
Despite battling injuries and setbacks in the just-finished season, Lamptey made 17 league appearances and provided five assists and could have definitely been better if he had stayed fully fit in the entire campaign.
Armeé Patriotique Rwandaise FC won their championship for the 22nd time with yet another commanding performance throughout the just ended season with a stunning unbeaten run and topped the table with 68 points after 30 matches.
APC after securing the service of Richmond Lamptey, will definitely look to make some few more signings to strengthen their squad for their title defense and also hope for a stellar CAF Champions League campaign in the 2024/25 season.
