Black Stars goalkeeper, Richard Ofori has reportedly been confirmed injured and won't be in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which commences in few days time.
Te injury was confirmed by Pirates as the team prepared to play arch rival Kaizer Chiefs in the semifinals of this season’s Black Label Cup tournament.
Ofori is one of three Orlando Pirates players on the team’s injury list with the other two being defenders Thabiso Monyane and Innocent Maela.
He was named in coach Otto Addo's 55-man provisional World Cup squad and was heavily tipped to make the final 26-man team for the World Cup but will painful miss out due to injury.
This is a huge blow for the four time African champions who will miss the service of Ofori and current first choice Jojo Wollacott who has also been ruled out due to finger injury.
The final squad will be announced on Monday, November 14, 2022 and will proceed to Abu Dhabi for the training tour before they proceed to Qatar for the main competition.
Ghana is drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and two time world champions Uruguay.
