Black Stars legend, Asamoah Gyan says young strikers should tell their midfielders where they want their passes, as he insists that communication is very important.
Asamoah Gyan has been without a club since his injury blighted 2020/21 season with Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League(GPL).
The 36-year-old hinted on his dreams of playing for the Black Stars at the 2022 World Cup, but later gave UO because of low match fitness.
Asamoah Gyan is the all-time record goalscorer for Ghana with fifty-one goals.
“When you’re going into a game, call the midfielders and tell them how you want the ball to be placed for you. At least one to two of such chances might work. If you do not communicate before the game, things may go wrong during the game," he said.
"My teammates trusted me. When you are in a team where your teammates trust you, it makes things easier."
"Kwadwo Asamoah, Sulley Muntari, Laryea Kingston, and Stephen Appiah. All of them knew my movements so when passing the ball to me they did not need to look," he added.
