Tema Youth owner, Winfried Osei Kwaku ‘Palmer' says Joseph Paintsil omission from the Black Stars squad for the World Cup is because of his fractured relationship with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Ghana will face Uruguay, South Korea and Portugal in the group stages of the mundial.

Ghana will begin their camping on Thursday, 10th November in Abu Dhabi before playing Switzerland in their final friendly seven days later.

In-form Joseph Paintsil has been excluded from the final twenty-six man squad after being named in the provisional squad, according to Kickgh sources.

Paintsil has scored six goals and set-up five goals in thirteen games in the Belgian Jupiler League.

The 24-year-old is a former player of Tema Youth, a Division One side in Ghana bankrolled by Palmer, who has a long standing sour relationship with the GFA after was disqualified from contesting for the GFA Presidential seat in 2019.

Osei Kwaku Palmer believes that his sour relationship with the GFA is the cause of Joseph Paintsil’a exclusion from the World Cup squad.

“Paintsil is suffering because of the sour relationship I have with the GFA,” Palmer told Etv Ghana

“If not because of my issues with the GFA, Paintsil would have been enjoying his time with the National Team,” he added.
