Former Ghana Football Association President, Kwasi Nyantakyi has advised coaches not to ever allow people to influence their selection and added if you do, then you ain't a responsible one.
There has been series of hullabaloos in the local media, regarding player selection influence into our various national teams most especially the Black Stars.
It has widely been speculated previously and now that, prominent football people in the country influence coaches selection by payment of bribes, imposition and a whole lot.
One of the issues most indigenous football fans nipped on to hugely chastise the country's previous football governing body.
Finally breaking his silence on this issue, the former CAF Vice President stated no responsible coach will permit anyone to dictate for them in terms of choosing players and added you won't worth any prestige and respect If you allow that to happen. He disclosed this on Joy Sports' Prime Take;
"No coach worth his salt will allow somebody to dictate to him who should play and who should not play."
“If any coach did that, then he’s not a coach because as a coach, the responsibility lies squarely at your doorstep.”
The Black Stars will be leaving for Abu Dhabi very soon to begin their training tour ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup which starts in few weeks time.
It's been over a week and Ghanaians still await the first phase of coach Otto Addo's squad which is expected to comprise of 35-55 players and will subsequently be trimmed down to the final 26 before November 14, 2022.
