Crystal Palace manager, Patrick Viera has tasked Ghanaian forward to add goals to his game despite admitting he is a proper team player that every that will be cherished by any coach in his team.
The Eagles put up a solid and outstanding display to humble West Ham United by 1-2 at the London Olympic Stadium in an epic Premier League tie last Sunday.
The mobile striker was in action on the day and moved on to last the entire duration of the game, marking his 15th appearance so far in all competitions.
Speaking prior to their league cup game against Newcastle United tomorrow, the former French international admitted Jordan Ayew helps his team a lot but should be decisive upfront and work on getting goals to spurs them to important victories in their subsequent matches.
"In every football club, you have a Jordan Ayew that the manager loves to have in the squad. Because Jordan is the type of player who will always put the team first before himself. He’s a team player and his attitude has been fantastic in training, in games, off the field, and I don’t have any doubt that the Palace fans show and give him the love he deserves and needs."
"The other side of the game that for us as a club is really important is that players sacrifice themselves for the team. Jordan, yes, shoots and I want him to score more goals and be more decisive, but what he gives to the team, the balance he gives to the team, the way he is working out of possession, allows us to perform."
The former Marseille striker will hope to make the starting line up in their EFL Cup game against Newcastle United on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the St James Park.
He will also have a substantive aim of making coach Otto Addo's final squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which comes in Qatar on November 20, 2022.
