Veteran Ghanaian football administrator, Jonathan Abbey Pobi has urged the government to doll-out $6 million to the Black Stars to fund for their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign.
The respected football brainy stressed in an interview with Accra based Peace FM on Wednesday.
“We don’t need the Black Stars players, they rather need us - we are giving them the opportunity to go to the World Cup.
"We have to dictate the pace, as Ghanaians the team belongs to us, so we have to tell them we'll give you $5 million or $10 million as an appearance fee.
"Appearance fees are paid by FIFA. Some people will get theirs and manage them very well and even save some. We should tell them that as Ghanaians we are giving you $6 million. Cameroon did that, Nigeria too did the same thing and they went and won the Afcon," he added.
The Black Stars will be making an appearance in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this month.
Ghana will play Switzerland in an international friendly on November 17 before starting their World Cup campaign on November 24 against Portugal in their first Group H game.
