Sunday afternoon football of match day 5 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season kicked off on a rare schedule that has seen red hot - Aduana Stars managed to hang on to their top perch as they continue their unbeaten run of the season on their fifth attempt, a lone goal victory over Legon Cities, courtesy of Isaac Mintah’s electrifying and thrilling first half strike to reassure their teaming fans they’re charged to frustrate any team after a perfect start to the season (4W, 1D).
Cities quest for their third victory of the season - away from their home grounds was denied them as home side Aduana’s 32nd minute goal seemed enough to have handed them the desired win to prevent the visitors from stealing a point at the Nana Agyemang Badu stadium.
The first placed Ogya lads are now unbeaten in their last 5 league games and will travel to Tamale to pin-it-down with Real Tamale United on match day 6 with the chance to take an early flight and distance themselves from the competition with well chunk of points.
Cities are tied on the 9th spot on 7points and will next welcome Great Olympics to the El-Wak stadium in Accra.
