Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffo has revealed his long-term ambition to coach his former club, but says his immediate focus is on developing young talent as he begins his coaching journey.

Speaking to Ghana Sports Page, the ex-Kotoko captain shared his aspirations while stressing the importance of starting from the grassroots.

“My dream club is Asante Kotoko, but not now,” Akuffo said. “There are so many coaches I’ve worked with and learned from.”

Akuffo, who featured prominently for the Porcupine Warriors during a six-year spell from 2011 to 2017, believes his experience both on and off the field has prepared him for life on the touchline.

“My dream is to impact the new generation with my experience,” he noted. “So even if I get a youth team to start with, we will try and make an impact.”

Widely respected for his leadership and consistency during his playing days, Akuffo is now poised to begin a new chapter—one he hopes will eventually lead him back to Kotoko in a managerial role.
