The Goldfields Ghana Foundation has announced a $13 million investment in the T and A Stadium, which will serve as the new home ground for Medeama SC.
The mining company is overseeing the construction of this stadium, designed to accommodate 10,400 spectators.
This move follows Medeama's successful qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage.
Earlier this month, Medeama confirmed the receipt of notice from Goldfields Ghana regarding the completion of their sponsorship agreement. While the company has not contradicted this information, they have now provided an update on the stadium's progress.
A statement from the company revealed, "The Foundation has invested over $13 million, out of a budgeted $16 million, in the stadium, and this has proven to be one of the high-cost items it has funded, alongside the Tarkwa to Damang asphalted road."
Furthermore, Goldfields Ghana has earmarked $100,000 to support the Tarkwa-based club's advertising efforts.
"The advertising package, which includes jersey and bus branding, is for the duration of one year, from 2023 to 2024," the statement detailed.
