Five players including Thomas Teye Partey were absent during the Black Stars' first day at training ahead of next weekend’s Afcon qualifiers. Ghana national team have begun preparations for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Group H qualifier against Mauritius,
with 18 players attending the first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan, English Premier League champion Jeffery Schlupp and new boy, Patrick Twumasi, were all present alongside two home-based goalkeepers, Fatau Dauda and Richard Ofori.
Others spotted at the facility were Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Samuel Tetteh, Christian Atsu, Ebenezer Assifuah, Frank Acheampong, John Boye, Abdul Baba Rahman, Harrison Afful, Mubarak Wakaso, Kadri Mohammed and Jonathan Mensah.
Those yet to arrive at camp are Atletico Madrid's midfielder Thomas Teye Partey, Alfred Duncan of Sassuolo, Edwin Gyimah, Daniel Amartey, and shot-stopper Razak Brimah.
Training will continue at the venue on Tuesday before their scheduled trip to Mauritius on Wednesday.
Ghana are leaders of Group H with 10 points, ahead of Mozambique, Lesotho and Mauritius. A win on Sunday will hand them qualification to the final tournament in Gabon.
Goal understands that Partey arrived in Ghana on Tuesday and will team up with his colleagues later in the day.
