Ghanaian teenage sensation John Batigi has officially signed with Danish club AC Horsens in a move that marks a major step forward in the young left winger's promising career.
The highly-rated prospect, who has been turning heads with his performances in Bulgarian top side Botev Plovdiv, completed his move to the Nordic side, signing a 4-year contract after finalizing personal terms and passing a routine medical.
Batigi, 18, is widely regarded as one of the brightest emerging talents in Ghanaian football, known for his explosive pace, creative flair, and eye for goal from the wings. He was a standout performer for Ghana's U-17 national team, drawing interest from several European scouts.
The 2024–25 campaign saw him enjoy a breakout half-season with Armenian top-tier side FC Van. For a teenager new to senior football and life abroad, Batigi’s seven goals and one assist in 17 games speak volumes.
Speaking to your factual football portal' Kickgh.com after the deal, a source close to the player confirmed the move: “John is thrilled to join AC Horsens. This is a big opportunity, and he’s ready to work hard and make his mark in Denmark.”
AC Horsens, who are aiming to return to the Danish Superliga after a recent relegation, view Batigi as a long-term project with huge talent. He is expected to begin with the club’s U-19s or reserves but could be fast-tracked into the first team if he adapts quickly.
Though still young, Batigi’s composure on the ball and tactical maturity have drawn comparisons to former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu. Many in Ghana’s football circles believe this move could be the platform that launches him into the Black Stars team contention in the coming years.
