The Dutch-born of Ghanaian descent is set to complete a sensational return to England after agreeing to terms with the Anfield Stadium outfit for a summer switch.
English champions Liverpool have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen over the acquisition of Jeremie Agyekum Frimpong in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Earlier this month, the 24-year-old full-back told the German Bundesliga side his intention to depart the club after the end of the 2024/25 season's campaign should his release clause be triggered.
Frimpong, who has been a long-term target for Liverpool, was one of the names on Arne Slot's shortlist of potential signings for the next season's campaign, and he had a £29.5m (€35m) release clause.
He was a key member of the Leverkusen team that won the German domestic double last season.
Since joining Leverkusen in January 2021, the ex-Manchester City youth player has scored 30 goals and provided 44 assists in 190 games for the club in all competitions.
Leverkusen signed Frimpong from Celtic in a deal worth up to £11.5m in January 2021.
Frimpong, who was born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam, moved from Manchester City's academy to Celtic for £300,000 in September 2019.
