Having attracted interest from suitors during the January transfer window, the talented defender of Ghanaian descent is looking forward to staying put with his current employers beyond the upcoming summer

Danish-born Ghanaian centre-back Jonas Jensen-Abbew has said he is being focused on Aarhus GF stay as he looks forward to giving out his utmost best for his side in the 2025-26 football campaign.

Given his remarkable debut season with the Aarhus-based club so far this term, the 22-year-old caught the attention of Dutch Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles and Swedish Allsvenskan side IK Sirius during the winter transfer window.

Nonetheless, a move away from the Ceres Park campaigners has already been mooted in the summer, but the former FC Nordsjaelland youth star is having none of this speculation as he is determined to stay put with his club beyond next season.

''It's not like that if it were up to me,'' the 22-year-old said when quizzed about his future at AGF ahead of the summer window in an interview with Tipsbladet.'' I'm fully focused on being here and doing my part. I want to finish well here so that we can go into the next season with a good mindset and start fresh and show what we've done during the season in periods where we've played really, really good football and been there where it's fun.''

He continued: ''I don't think I've reached that point at all. I've enjoyed being here, even though it's been a bit up and down. It's an insanely cool club with insanely cool people. The results haven't been there lately, and it's a big club with pressure. We haven't lived up to what we want. But we're also happy here, and now we hope that we can turn things around and finish well.''

Jensen-Abbew has so far been involved in 20 games for AGF across all competitions in this current campaign albeit his injury setback halfway the season.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the young central defender still remains eligible to represent Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Danish U21 national youth team.
