Ghanaian forward, David Accam, has been named as the best Player of the Round honors for the Fifth Round of the 2016 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.
David Accam’s brace in their 2-1 victory over the Columbus Crew earned him this accolade.
The Chicago Fire attacker could win the Golden boot with his three goals with two behind Edwin Borboa of La Maquina FC.
The award is voted on by the competition staff and a selected panel from the North American Soccer Reporters.
Accam narrowly beat off competition from Tyler Miller of Seattle Sounders and Chris Pontius of Philadelphia Union.
He is the second Ghanaian to win the award after Dominic Oduro grabbing it five years ago.
