The German gaffer said the Ghanaian rising star will continue to enjoy his playing minutes under his tutelage after making his first appearance in the starting line-up over the weekend


 FC Koln boss Tim Shultz has said German-born Ghanaian teenager Justin Diehl "will continue to get his assignments," in his main team ranks in the ongoing German top-flight.

After impressing in their 1-1 draw game against VfB Stuggart last Saturday, the man in charge of the dugout at RheinEnergieStadion, is left impressed with the displays of the 19-year-old after handling him 60 minutes of game time in his starting line-up for that topsy-turvey encounter.

 Shultz said of his jewel asset over his performance at the end of the stalemate contest to EXPRESS.de: "He showed signs of his potential in some one-on-one situations. He was able to assert himself strongly in some situations. We know what the boy can do. We have seen that it still needs to improve in some areas. But that would also be bad if it weren't so. We will continue to build it. He will continue to get his assignments.”

His retired team-mate glovesman, Thomas Kessler echoed on the teenage sensation first team appearance in the starting line-up over the weekend.

"Two and a half years ago I said to him: ‘At some point I would like you to be in the starting eleven in the Bundesliga. “I reminded him again after the game and congratulated him on making it."

He has so far figured in 5 league game appearances for FC Koln in the ongoing German Bundesliga 23/24 football season.

 Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still remains eligible to switch allegiance and play for Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Germany U16, U18, U19 & U20 national youth teams.
