The Swedish top division champions have parted ways with the Ghanaian midfield enforcer ahead of the summer transfer window
Ghana international midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey has been released by Swedish Allsvanskan side Malmo FF after joining them from French side Amiens SC in 2022.
The 26-year-old failed to live up to expectations at the Malmo-based club, with his uninspiring performances leading him to proceed on loan at Cyprus elite side Ethnikos Achnas during the 2023/24 football campaign.
Sporting director Daniel Andersson confirmed the release of the gangling enforcer on a permanent basis via his club's official website: "Emmanuel is a great guy who came into this with us a little crookedly when we had a tough season in 2022. Emmanuel has done an appreciated job in Cyprus and all three parties are satisfied with this solution. We thank Emanuel for our time together and wish him the best of luck with his continued career."
He will now secure a permanent move to the Cyprus top-flight outfit in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Lomotey is currently having 7 international caps with the men's senior national team, the Black Stars.
Cagliari's young midfielder, Ibrahim Sulemana, has shared his excitement after making his debut for the Black Stars of Ghana in the 2026 World Cup qualifying game against Mali.
Memphis Depay highlighted his Ghanaian roots by performing the traditional 'Adowa' dance with Jeremie Frimpong following their goals in the Netherlands' 4-0 victory over Canada in a pre-Euro 2024 friendly.
The former Black Stars shot-stopper has departed the Orlando Stadium outfit after a four-year stay at the club.
The German superpower outfit have landed the talented teenager of Ghanaian origin together with his team-mate Maurice Krattenmacher
German-born Ghanaian budding forward Gibson Nana Adu has joined Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich, the club have confirmed.
The 16-year-old together with his team-mate Maurice Krattenmacher were secured from 3. Liga side Unterhaching this summer.
"FC Bayern have signed attackers Maurice Krattenmacher, 18, and Gibson Nana Adu, 16, from Unterhaching. Adu will continue to play for the 3. Liga club next season," an excerpt of a statement over the capturing of the duo reads.
Bayern Munich sporting director at the youth level Jochen Sauer had this to tell his club's official website right after signing the two teenagers: "Maurice Krattenmacher and Gibson Nana Adu are two players with great prospects. Maurice is from Munich, was with us in his younger years and has gained experience in the 3. Liga at Unterhaching. He’s got good technique, is versatile in attack, and not just capable of scoring himself but always has an eye for teammates. Gibson is both the youngest player and goalscorer in the history of the 3. Liga. Both are representative of Unterhaching’s good youth development. We back both players to make it professionally.”
Nana Adu is currently holding the record as the youngest ever player to score in the German 3.Liga campaign at the age of 16.
Given his enormous talent, he could be a sure bet for Ghana at the international level.
