Ghanaian teenager Mujeeb Abdul Samad is set to undergo trials at Swedish Allsvenskan side Djurgårdens IF, the club have announced.
The defensive midfielder, who is owned by Ghanaian Division Two outfit Acceler8z FC, could link up with the Tele2 Arena campaigners if he excels at the end of his trial sessions in the upcoming days.
The Stockholm-based club confirmed the trial opportunity handed to the 19-year-old enforcer via the club's official website: ''The 06-born Ghanaian midfielder will visit Djurgården and train with DIF PA19 during the coming week. It has come time for a Ghanaian visit this week when Mujeeb Abdul Samad is in place for a trial match. There was an initial training session with the A-team at 3Arena and then continued sessions with DIF PA19 await.''
Sporting director Peter Kisfaludy has elaborated on the duration of the trial period of the Ghanaian youngster by adding to his communications network: ''Mujeeb is a defensive midfielder from Acceler8z FC, native to Kumasi, which is Ghana's second largest city, where he has also been team captain for the club. He has a skilled passing foot, both in the short and long passing game and also has a very nice technique for being so big. With a height of 1.86, he is well physically prepared and has looked very interesting.''
''Mujeeb came here on Saturday, watched the cup match against Sandviken on site on Sunday and has started training now on Monday, the plan is that he will be here for 10-14 days.''
