Former Black Stars Head Coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor has expressed his frustration on waiting for almost a year and still not receive his compensation after his sack from his duty.

The former Asante Kotoko gaffer was relieved off his job in December 2021 with some few months left in his contract after taking over from James Kwesi Appiah in January 2020.

C.K. Akonnor who is without a club says even after not receiving his salaries consistently during his days as the coach, it is demeaning to have waited for this long in search of the remainder of his monies from the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

"It’s frustrating. When I was actively working, I wasn’t paid regularly. Sometimes, it is embarrassing to talk about it."

I" will answer all those questions at the appropriate time. People questioned “then why did you do it when you were not paid? those questions, I will answer them, but for now, silence is golden." He told Joy Sports.

Serbian Milovan Rajevac succeeded Akonnor but failed to cross the group stages of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon which subsequently saw him sacked to be replaced by the current coach Otto Addo.

Otto Addo will lead the Black Stars to her 4th World Cup tournament in Qatar which starts on the 19 Nov, 2022.
