Presidential candidate for Saturday's General Elections, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Freedom Jacob Caesar or Cheddar has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to use innovative methodologies in funding the nations football hemisphere.
Bediako, who is the leader of The New Force in an interview played on Asempa FM charged the GFA to learn from FIFA, which generates its revenue through broadcasting proceeds.
He advised the GFA to explore similar opportunities and stop relying on limited budgets from the government.
“I don't think they [GFA] are looking at the strategy of other football associations like FIFA. Because FIFA makes most of their money from broadcasting. That's what makes them powerful.
“So they've managed not just for people to play football, but they've built relationships with all television channels around the world.
“Ghana, our GFA, is just waiting for a budget and a match. And they carry the people, they go and play, they either win or they lose. They come back, somebody's going to pay for it," he concluded.
