The maiden 'Democracy Cup' to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Ghana Parliament will be unveiled on June 6, 2024, confirmed by the Speaker Mr. Alban Bagbin.
The main reason behind this game is to celebrate thirty years of the country's legislature which was been in existence since 1993.
Two heavyweights Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have been invited to launch this memorial game and is expected to be held annually.
It has also been confirmed that the winner will have the opportunity to play against Major League Soccer side DC United in Washington, USA.
Organisers have also arranged what will be an interesting and exciting curtain raiser to pave way for the main event and that will be between Members of Parliament and former Black Stars players.
The game is slated for Friday, July 6, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium in the capital, Accra.
Parliamentary sittings, fun games, debates, peace walks and a whole lot are all part of activities to celebrate the anniversary; thus the country's ability to retain their democratic system and the 1992 constitution.
