The Black Queens are preparing for their game against Senegal later today as part of their recent training tour and head coach Kim Lars Björkegren believes they have the potential to overcome their opponents.
The senior women national team were last seen in action two months ago where they lost painfully to Morocco and subsequently had their game against Raja Casablanca postponed.
The team opened camp couple of days ago and have a full strength squad that comprised of Doris Boaduwaa, skipper Portia Boakye, Jennifer Owusu, Sherifatu Sumaila, Grace Asantewaa, goalkeeper Cynthia Findib Konlan and others.
Goalkeeper Grace Banwaa, Kerrie McCarthy and Philicity Asuako are the only home-based players in the squad as they continue with preparations towards the 2024 Women's AFCON.
Speaking ahead of the game, the Swedish tactician admitted they will be locking horns with a very strong team but added they what the potential to edge them this dusk.
“The game against Senegal tomorrow. I think it’s going to be a tough one. They play physically. It’s going to be a good game for us. We need to move the ball fast, but if we do that, I’m sure we have the potential to win the game."
The game is slated for 17:00GMT (5:00pm) at the Stade Lat Dior in Dakar.
