The second round of this season's GN National Division One League in zone two (2) which contains Kumasi Cornerstones, has been a difficult zone amongst the three zones in the second tier football in the country.

The Kumasi Asem-based club has seen tremendous dwindling on the league table in the second round of the GN National DOL after exhibiting a superb performance in the first round finishing 5th after fifteen games which gave them hopes of making it to the top-flight football next season should they maintain such performance.

It has been the contrary in the second round of games as Cornerstones now struggles to win a game even at home as they have only won twice in the second round which has set internal wrangling's among the management and the playing body of the club.

As a result of that, the players attempted to boycott their game against Kumasi King Faisal which they lost heavily by 3-0 after they failed to turn out for some days at training prior to their derby against the "Nokia boys".

The team captain of Kumasi Cornerstones, Umar-Farouk Issah, spoke exclusively with Ahoto FM Sport after their game against Kumasi King Faisal saying that "the motivation is not coming from management" and has adversely affected the performance of the team.

"My colleagues always call me to mount incessant pressure on me claiming they have not been paid for the past eight to nine months. And some of them have children and are married", he told Ahoto Sports.

"You will play your heart out for the team but you don't get anything after winning a game so there is no motivation whatsoever in the team", he continued.

However, the 18-year-old defender has assured the fans that, since management are not willing to heed to their concerns, they will continue to give out their best for the club and start getting the results which will secure them a better place in the league.
