New Edubiase returns home for the first time this season in match week eighteen (18) after the Bekwai Gyamfi Park was rejected by the Premier League Board (PLB) to commission top-flight football in the country after failing to meet the requirement of the CAF licencing standard.
After the necessary renovations at the media and VIP stands including the changing room of the Gyamfi Park, it is now ready to witness football activities as New Edubiase play as homesters to visiting Dansoman based club, Liberty Professional in a closed door game.
New Edubiase were banned two home games to be played behind closed doors after they were found guilty of attacking match officials and players of Dreams FC in match day fourteen of the league which they lost by a lone goal at home.
Though it is a change of venue from the Len Clay Sports Stadium to the Gyamfi Park, the suspension still holds for a reminder of a punishment left to be served at the Gyamfi Park on Sunday against Liberty Professionals.
New Edubiase looks more of a carcass in the premier league awaiting burial in the lower league than an infected bull bitten by a tsetse fly trying to wake up from her slumber.
They have struggled to get themselves out of the relegation zone, been the longest team to stay within that zone since the league started.
Facing another opponent who have had a fairly good season thus far this season will be mammoth task for the Adansi side playing without their fans behind them in the stands.
A sub standard New Edubiase team this season full of youthful exuberance mixed with few known-name players in the system will be eager and ready to exchange everything to grab the necessary three points at stake to boost them of getting out of the relegation zone anytime soon.
That wouldn't come easy for a side that has even struggled to get the points at home as visiting sides have had some moments of cherry in picking all points in their own territory. Moreover, they will be battling with a rejuvenated and a better Liberty Professionals side this season.
Liberty Professionals comes in not as good travellers rarely making an impact on the road, now to a difficult grounds against an hungry and angry New Edubiase United team who are in a dire need of all three points.
Although Liberty Professional are heads and shoulders above New Edubiase this season, the task ahead of them to conquer the "yenko nkoaa" boys is as heinous as sniffing a stick of cocaine but could be motivated by Aduana Stars and Dreams FC who have had favourable results away to New Edubiase.
