After the 2022 FIFA World Cup caused a break in the Ghana Premier League, the domestic league will resume today (Monday) from match-week 9 - just a day after the 2022 Mundial in Qatar.
Some Premier League matches will be played with Great Olympics taking on Aduana Stars at the WAFA Park in Sogakope on Tuesday, December 20.
It will be a clash in what seems to be a restart of a 'Redemption Tuesday' for both clubs that lost their last games before the break. Olympics were stunned 1-0 at the Golden City Park while Aduana succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at Tamale City.
Both teams now have the chance to redeem themselves on a neutral ground as Oly Dade’s home venue - Accra Sports Stadium has being left in a terrible state after a flopped musical concert, and has now being declared not fit to host a Premier League game.
Fourth placed Great Olympics have the perfect chance for redemption at their temporary home as they welcome first placed Aduana Stars to Sogakope.
Olympics will ride into the game with two wins, two defeats and one draw in their last five matches, as they have managed a generous 14 points after 8 round of matches.
Their opponents, do have a stellar away record as they’ve only lost two away games, whiles Olympics have won four at home this season.
This clash will be a tough match for both clubs; Olympics needs the win or at least a draw to keep pace with Aduana, but maybe the elements might shift and be on the Ogya lads favor as they hope to muscle-up their table toppers bragging-right, although it won’t be a walk in the park for them away from their favorite Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.
