In a pivotal Matchweek 34 clash of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, Aduana Stars delivered a strong home performance, defeating Basake Holy Stars 3–1 at Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro.
Aduana started confidently, pressing early and dominating possession. Their efforts bore fruit in the 42nd minute when Richard Tetteh dinked in a precise strike from the edge of the box, giving the hosts a well-deserved lead.
Holy Stars responded with intent, chipping at Aduana’s defence, and their pressure paid off just four minutes into the second half—in the 49th minute, Francis Oteng—who hasn't scored in the whole season capped off the campaign—scoring his first goal as he slipped home a smart finish past Aduana goalkeeper Masawudu Inusah to level the score.
However, Aduana regained control fully after the goal. In the 51st minute, forward Emmanuel Marfo shrugged off a defender to blast home a fierce shot, restoring the Fire Boys' advantage at 2–1. The goal was Marfo's fifth of the season.
The match was sealed in the 88th minute, when centre back Alex Boakye—a defender known for his commanding presence—dashed forward to take the spot kick which was awarded to Aduana and he emphatically notched, making it 3–1.
