Dreams FC wrapped up their 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign in style with a commanding 4–1 victory over Legon Cities on Sunday afternoon at the Tuba AstroTurf in Accra on the final matchday (Matchweek 34).
The Still Believe lads delivered a performance brimming with attacking flair, clinical finishing, and control from start to finish.
Dreams FC came flying out of the blocks, clearly intent on closing their season with a statement. However, their breakthrough arrived early in the 16th minute when Jonathan Nemorden tucked home the opener.
Legon Cities struggled to cope with Dreams relentless pace and movement, and in the 19th minute, Joseph Esso doubled the lead with a composed finish. The home side continued to dominate, and just 20 minutes into the second half, Seidu Suraj made it 3–0 with a stunning effort, leaving the Legon Cities goalkeeper Hardy Obenfo Adjei rooted to the spot.
However, Nemorden completed his brace in the afternoon, putting the result beyond doubt with a powerful goal in the 74th minute, making it 4–0.
The Royals pulled one back in the 85th minute through Dennis Adoma, briefly sparking hopes of a fightback which never happened up till the final whistle.
The result ensures Dreams FC finish the season strongly, climbing into the sixth position of the table with this afternoon's ruthless win. Their form in the final weeks–winning their last three matches suggests a promising platform for the 2025/26 campaign.
For Legon Cities, the heavy defeat caps a disappointing end to a turbulent season. Defensive lapses and inconsistency have plagued their campaign, and changes may be needed in the off-season to avoid further decline.
The Atmosphere at the Tuba AstroTurf was superlative as the match was watched by a vibrant home crowd who cheered on as Dreams FC produced some of their most entertaining football this season. The fans were rewarded with four superb goals and a performance that lived up to the club's "Still Believe" mantra.
