Experienced tactician Juan Micha Obiang has officially signed a new contract as the head coach of the Nzalang Nacional, the national football team of Equatorial Guinea, for an additional two years, extending his tenure until 2026.
In a statement following the renewal, the 46-year-old emphasized his commitment to the team and the country, revealing that he made no additional demands during the contract negotiations.
“I have not asked for anything at all. I do not believe that there has been an improvement,” Micha said after signing the new deal.
He has been in charge of Equatorial Guinea since his initial appointment in October 2020, having graduated from his assistant coaching role between January 2015 and December 2017.
Micha led the Nzalang Nacional to the knockout stages of the 2021 and 2023 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire respectively.
